Environmental Protection & Climate Responsibility

Policy priorities

  • Protect clean air and clean water

  • Hold polluters accountable

  • Require transparency from data centers

  • Invest in conservation and renewable energy

Plain language
Clean water and clean air keep us healthy and support jobs. I have seen how pollution harms communities. We must protect our natural resources and stop corporations from damaging them for profit.

A voice for the underrepresented

If elected I will be a strong voice for those groups not well represented in Congress including farmers, small businesses, and the environment.

House Joint Resolution 140

Under the Trump administration the environment has been under fire on many fronts from climate change to relaxing important air, water, and human health standards. One shortsighted bill, HR 140, will open mining in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) Wilderness Area in Minnesota. The BWCA is over a million acres of lakes and forest and is one of the the most beautiful and pristine areas in the country home to moose, wolves, eagles, osprey as well as spectacular fishing. Every year the BWCA:

  • has over 150,000 overnight visitors

  • creates and supports 17,000 jobs

  • drives $900 Million in economic activity

A Harvard study found the BWCA creates more jobs than mining ever will.

This bill will not only irreparably damage the BWCA ecosystem but will impact the long-term sustainable economy critical to many small towns and businesses in the area. We can protect the environment and have a thriving economy when done smartly. You can count on me to lead the charge on dangerous bills such as HJR 140. Contact your U.S. Senator to vote no on HJR 140.
