AI & hyperscale data Centers

Policy priorities

  • Slow down the process of planning and building hyperscale data centers with immediate 18 month moratoriums on all construction

  • Improved regulatory codes and processes for protecting the environment from data center construction and operation

  • Tax reform for data centers that ensures they pay their fair share of the cost in taking up so much land

  • Restrictions on the use of data centers to surveille, as well as protections against the theft of a person’s face, image, or voice for AI productions

  • Regulations to label all AI produced media as such so that no one can become convinced of false information as a result of AI

  • Protect sensitive individuals from AI-induced medical crises with education, resources, and regulations on AI protocols.

Plain language

We need data centers, but we also cannot eat or breathe data!

I will ensure we move slow enough in construction of these data centers to thoroughly vet the operations. We will assess them for environmental impacts and account for the rights and liberties of those who choose to live rurally. Our homes were not made for the noise of these industrial monsters, and our properties not planned around the environmental impacts of hyperscale data centers.

I will also ensure responsible use of AI by society, seeking regulations to reduce AI psychosis and to prevent the theft of likeness. I will ensure there are remediations for any who have had their face, image, or voice stolen by AI. No one should be able to profit off your image!
